N - S

I am about a year late....and after the 3 Idiots fiasco, my "respect" for Chetan Bhagat has gone down several notches....but that doesnt change the fact that I liked 2 States...

All the cliche and north vs south brouhaha aside, 2 states is at its core a sweet love story (yes, big surprise...i am a hopeless romantic at heart...), one that conquers all odds, step by step, almost clinically and yet takes you along for a fun ride...What worked most for me was the girl Ananya's character - she's such a kick-ass, strong girl who believes in what she wants and does it without any apologies and reservations! Would love to meet her if she indeed exists!

Although Five Point Someone remains the best Chetan Bhagat book yet, 2 States sort of gets him back into the game after a Bollywood-ish 3 Mistakes....Hope to see more slice of life stuff with fewer cliches and more Ananyas from Bhagat...

P.S. : Somewhere down the line, I had plans of penning down bits of my story....but alas, life has different plans for everyone....cant complain! :)

completely agree,2 states sounds more like a Bollywood film and that babe is awesome the way she deals with his kinsmen.
3 mistakes is also good except that climax hubbub.

I heard Siddartha Anand is doing an adaptation of the book...Saif and Deepika are supposed to play the lead chars...hope it turns out well...

she does exist dude..she is his wife..as chetan bhagat pointed out sometime back , most of d book is his own love story @IIM-A

Ya I know tht dude...but since its Chetan Bhagat, its definitely a dramatized version! i doubt if she's as fiery and forthright as portrayed in the book...then again, even if she is, since she's his wife, wts the point in me meeting her now ;)

saif and DP looked very cool and prominent in some scenes of Love aaj kal..
but yeah, for Ananya's character she should be more intense and natural.
only looks/chemistry will not help to be a good movie.
but over and above director Siddarth Anand has to come up with innovative screenplay, scenes like Ananya and Krish used meet at beach early in the morning and cop used to catch them often, these scenes will add "Saadagi" to it.
Note: dont quote me bad, these are just thoughts from my side :P

The book is awesome.. i liked the humor he makes of both N & S folks who are hell bent on being N & S folks respectively. :)
Also liked Ananya like everyone else here... ;)
And yes, you can certainly pen down your story.. although you might have to use some more dramatization than Bhagat... He has also done it in 5 point someone, wrapping it around with a funnier topic..

@Suhail bhai : arre meri story ab nahi bata sakta...too many ppl involved and too many ppl stand a chance to get hurt :| maybe 5-10 saal baad when some more significant thngs happen, tab shayad firse kuch batane ki sochunga...but for now, its off the table :( I am disappointed coz i had worked on the format and setting of the story some time back...but no use working on it now coz its not a story I wanna tell anymore :(
