To The Moon and Back...

An amazing song by Savage Garden....
One of my all time favorites :)
--------------------------------------------------------

She's taking her time making up the reasons
To justify all the hurt inside
Guess she knows from the smiles and the look in their eyes
Everyone's got a theory about the bitter one

They're saying, "Mama never loved her much"
And, "Daddy never keeps in touch
That's why she shies away from human affection"
But somewhere in a private place
She packs her bags for outer space
And now she's waiting for the right kind of pilot to come
And she'll say to him
She's sayin
I would fly to the moon and back if you'll be...
If you'll be my baby
I've Got a ticket for a world where we belong
So would you be my baby?

She can't remember a time when she felt needed
If love was red then she was color blind
All her friends, well they've been trialed for treason
And crimes that were never defined
She's saying,
"Love is like a barren place,
And reaching out for human faith
It's like a journey I just don't have a map for "
So baby's gonna take a dive and
Push the shift to overdrive
Send a signal that she's hanging
All her hopes on the stars
What a pleasant dream

She's sayin
Mama never loved her much
And, Daddy never keeps in touch
That's why she shies away from human affection
But somewhere in a private place
She packs her bags for outer space
And now she's waiting for the right kind of pilot to come
And she'll say to him
She's sayin
I would fly to the moon and back if you'll be...
If you'll be my baby
I've Got a ticket for a world where we belong
So would you be my baby?

Why???

Why God why????.......................

said Joey on his 30th B'day :)))

An experiment...that worked :)

Tried out a new recipe for dinner tonight...The authentic name is Frittata di Cipolle e gorgonzola which literally means Italian-style cheese and onion omelet...Took me around 70 minutes to prepare and cook but finally, it turned out to be worth the effort as the delicious Frittatas left me feeling full and contented! What better way to end a routine day! :)

M putting down the recipe here for enthusiasts...And also a couple of pics of the final product (Thts how wat i made, looked....wat u make cud well turn out to be much better looking and tastier :) )

Frittata di Cipolle e gorgonzola

Serves: 1

Ingredients:
4 tbsp butter
1 medium onion, sliced
4 eggs
50 ml milk
50 gm cheese, crumbled
1 medium potato, thinly sliced
3-4 fingers French beans, finely chopped
Pepper

Method:
1. In a pan, heat the butter over medium heat.
2. Add the onions and potatoes along with salt to the pan and lower the heat.
3. Cook the onions and potatoes for about 8-10 minutes until golden. Ensure the onions do not turn brown, as that makes them bitter.
4. In a mixing bowl, mix the eggs, milk, and pepper, and beat them until frothy.
5. Pour the egg mixture over onions and potatoes and cover. Turn the flame medium to low.
6. Cook the frittata for some time, until it is almost set; this takes about 6-7 minutes.
7. Spread the crumbled cheese over the frittata, cover and cook for another 4 minutes. It will puff up slightly.
8. Allow the frittata to rest for 5 minutes.
9. Serve with bread and ketchup, if required.

The recipe has been taken frm an Italian cookbook and i have adapted it to suit taste (or rather to suit the material available with me ;) )....

Some friends...

Well this ones a tribute...to some ppl who hv become an unseparable part of my life...i hv never met ths guys nor talkd with them...i dont know wat they r like in real life...and thrs no possibility i'll ever get the chance to know much of tht...and yet, i know them so well, its like we have been togethr since times immemorial....
I know thr lives inside out...i know thr likes and dislikes better than them probably...I can predict with extreme precision how any of them will react in a situation...i hv seen them grow up frm a bunch of raw, youthful 24 year olds to mature, responsible and yet, great individuals...thr's has certainly been an eventful life...with crests and troughs all along...i have laughed with them, cried with them, been a part of thr greatest moments, shared thr sorrows, enjoyed thr banter, loved thr ways, admired thr frndship, longed to b a part of thr grp...in fact, its not just me, millions all over the world hv felt the same thng...about the best grp ever....ya u guessed it rit-Joey,Ross,Chandler,Monica,Rachel and Phoebe...the original F.R.I.E.N.D.S :)

This post is not going to be a review of the sitcom...thrs plenty of those on the internet...instead i just wish to say a few words abt all of 'my frnds'...

Joey: A nobler soul never existed...hes the sweetest of the lot and arguably the one who evokes the most laughter...hes dumb,yes-and tht contributes a lot to the sweetness-but hes the most charming and understanding of the six, who'll do anythng for his frnds...an who can forget tht famous pick up line....'How you doin'?' :)

Ross: A victim of circumstances, Ross is the most relatable character of the series...hes at the receiving end of a lot of the 'happenings' throughout the 10 seasons...and his reaction to it all is what makes him so endearing...basically a good guy at heart, weird in his own way, and probably the most responsible of the group, Ross reminds us why we are all human...

Chandler: What wud Friends b without Chandler? And life without humor? The wittiest of the lot, Chandler represents the triumph of human spirit over everything else...hes hd the toughest early years and probably thts wat drives him to the humor...nevertheless, Chandler is also the one who grows most through the 10 yrs...and by the end of the series,u cant really believ hes the same guy who forgot baby Ben on the bus in the 2nd season...The 'funnest' of the lot...

Monica: A stickler for cleanliness and perfection,Monica evokes mirth lik no othr female on the show...but her caring persona overshadows her scrappy nature and shes like the caretaker of the lot...her constant need to b the hostess, her bickering and bossing over Chandler, her spick-and-span ways, her fatsuit scenes frm childhood, her competitive streak, her delicious meals....they al make her a darling wit the othrs...and us!

Rachel: Unarguably, the most good-looking character on frnds, Rachel is played to perfection by Jennifer Anniston.... The apple of Ross's eye, Rachel sets up some of the funniest moments in Friends...Most of the special appearances are in some way linked to her character...be it Brad Pitt,Bruce Willis,Christina Applegate or Reese Witherspoon...Her on-off relationship with Ross is one of the main plots in the series....She's bratty, snobbish, unrealistic and yet so likable...

Phoebe: She hs the distinction of being the weirdest of the lot....strong competition frm Ross and Monica notwithstanding... :) Phoebe makes us laugh in her own strange way...with her 'smelly cat' renditions and her freakiest takes on life! Her relationships with David and later,Mike, are the most emotional and romantic...She may seem a weirdo on the outside, but inside she's jus a little girl, who's missed so much in her childhood....

These guys left us all in 2004 and have never returned since...altho thr wonderful memories continue to reign supreme in millions of hearts and on numerous channels...Thr hd been a rumor of a Friends movie lately...hope it happens AND happens with a good plot and script :)
Here's wishing FRIENDS immortality and harmony forever....

The real me...

There are instances when i feel i have discovered 'the real me'...when i am really happy and it feels good to be living...but then, the instances are shortlived...altho they do recur...
I gues, life is a journey whr u strive to make such instances more frequent and last longer...

B Pay-shunt....

Patience is the name of the game!!!

Jaane Tu.... Ya Jaane Na :)

Yes, there's no story to speak of....and yet the film says a lot in those 2.5 hrs...

Yes, the characters are caricaturish at times...and yet they are straight out of ur and my life...

Yes, the guy and girl take quite some time to realise thr feelings for each other...and yet, it seems so perfectly natural on thr part...

Yes, the parents shown in the film are nothing like real-life parents...and yet you can find a lot of similarities in your own parents...

Yes, the basic premise of telling a story seems very very familiar...and yet it works big time...u feel just lik the newcomer in the grp who feels lik she's known Ratz and Meow since ages...

Yes, A R Rehman's work is very different frm his recent releases...and yet its so so refreshing and rocking!!!All the songs are just A-Ma-Zing...esp Aditi,Pappu,Kahin To,Nazrein Milana,Jaane Tu Meri and the jazzy title track (heck! dint i just list the entire album?! :) )

Yes, Genelia sounds like a cross between Tara Sharma and Kim Sharma at times...and yet her spontaneity and sincerity are so heart-warming,u start liking Aditi for wat she is!

Yes, Imran may not be our generation's answer to Aamir....and yet, he comes up with such a natural, underplayed and adorable performance tht u cant help thinking here's a lad who'll sneak up the ladder silently b4 othrs begin to realise tht he hs actually surpassed thm all in terms of quality...

Yes, Prateik Babber's debut (Smita Patil and Raj Babber's son) may hv been sidelined by the more illustrious newcomer in the movie....and yet, he comes up with an absolutely brilliant performance tht clearly shows the gene pool he belongs to (i'm of course referring to Smita Patil here :) )

Yes, the cameos by Paresh Rawal and Khan bros look forced in the screenplay just to up the slapstick quotient....and yet you find urself thoroughly enjoying thr scenes....esp the 'Aidus :D' scene and 'Ranjhore ka Rathore' bit...

Yes,Naseeruddin Shah plays yet another bit-role...and yet, i cant remember the last time when he actually did justice to his talent and made me laugh so much with his poker-faced humor...

Yes, the climax is a 'beaten-to-death' airport scene abound with cliches...and yet it manages to bring a wide smile on ur face...and touches ur heart when Imran sings the evergreen Shashi Kapoor number...

Yes, the culmination to the story and especially the means to it are silly...and yet u find urself willing to suspend disbelief and believe it all...

Yes, the film, in retrospect, offers nothing new...and yet you can relate so much to everything that u end up loving it!Yes, it may not be considered a patch on the Director's earlier scriptwork (Munnabhai MBBS,Maqbool)...and yet,its a triumph in itself, not just for him but for the entire young, bubbly team...

Yes, i generally dont like silly love stories which hv nothing new to offer...and yet, i enjoyd this film so much tht in all probability, i'll shell out 200 bucks more to watch it again :)

As refreshing as a breeze of fresh air which lightly grazes ur face when standing on the edge of a steep cliff...JTYJN is an immensely enjoyable slice of life!

To quote a couple of lines frm the film....
"Mana kabhi kabhi saare jahaan mein andhera hota hai,
Lekin raat ke baad hi to sawera hota hai!"
JTYJN pierces the pitch dark 1st half of 2008 just like a refreshing ray of sunlight ! :)
